I loved reading this Jessica! I think society makes us think that renting is only for people who ‘haven’t made it in life’ but sometimes people don’t want to be tied down, they want to have the option to get up whenever they like, to be free, to spread their wings and float wherever life takes them without the chain of a 30 year mortgage! Wherever you are in your life is exactly where you’re supposed to be ♥️

This writing feels so applicable to endings more generically and I especially like this - it's ok to have regrets but it's important not to continue accumulating them. This has helped with a mini-crossroads I face. x

Beautiful writing as always and heartfelt advice, Jessica! I would add one thing which is consider seeking help during this challenging time, whether it be a trusted friend or a trained mental health professional.

I've been there too and everything you say is true, Jess: the best is yet to come! And it keeps getting better if we can stay open to it all, like you said. Such a gorgeous piece! 💕

I loved this Jessica, and though I am older and it has been a long time since I was in this situation, I know I would have valued this advice at the time.

On a separate note, I have been struggling with the hard decision of whether to "break up" with my safe and comfortable employment situation in order to embrace a more creative opportunity. I realised this morning that some of your exercises (particularly the list of bad things about the relationship, or in mu case workplace situation) might be useful for working through my decision. I am going to use that today!

I think most people have experienced the thought of losing everything, whether it be husband, wife partner, child or parents; or even a job loss during our recession. We are not alone, we have all experienced some loss. We all have to think of the positive things we have and can do for future happiness, because living in the past just does not heal one’s soul. There is always someone out there far less unfortunate then us, or someone worse off then us. So appreciate what you do have and make rainbows for your future. As I write this I look at the beautiful white tulips and pussy willows I bought today to cheer myself and the lovey cafe I went to for coffee, where the staff recognized me and so welcoming and happy I was there for my weekly coffee and read. We have to be happy we are here and still able to make dreams. This week my friend’s husband was rushed to hospital with heart issue, that they found young man actually got dementia and will never come home to her and live in their home. Yet last weekend who would have thought this was coming. So everyone think of what positive things you have. Once in a while it is okay to reflect on one’s past, but there was a good reason why the past changed. Make the best of every moment, time is precious. My white tulips are beautiful.
