What’s been adding value in February
Manifesting the right way, when you no longer want to sleep with your partner and a capsule wardrobe worthy French fashion brand
Hello you!
I hope February was good to you. And if it wasn’t, the good news is the days are getting noticeably longer and the weather is about to warm up for us really soon. Here comes everything I’ve been loving this month. I’m sure you’ll find a few gems in there…
Watches
You are what you eat - a twin experiment is a great watch for anyone considering a vegan, vegetarian or healthier lifestyle in general. The scientific evidence about the difference between meat eaters and plant based foodies was super interesting to digest and it’s the first time twins have been used in such an experiment.
This Netflix documentary about Bluezones blew my mind. I’ve been obsessed with those who live to over a hundred for a long time so I knew I’d enjoy this. What these people have in common despite living in completely different areas of the world is truly fascinating.
One day is probably on everyone’s recommendation list right now and for good reason. This adaptation of the much loved novel is beautiful, cinematic and tells the story of Dexter and Emma, two best friends who fall in love in a way that will leave you warm and fuzzy on the inside.
Listens
Cigarettes after sex is an artist I cannot stop listening to on my daily wanderings around Paris and in my apartment while I’m cooking.
Manifesting frequencies playlist is what I’ve been listening to each morning while I jounal, exercise and read my positive affirmations in the mirror whilst brushing my teeth. It’s really relaxing and is said to raise our vibration.
Books
Manifest by Roxie Nafousi has been on my to read list for a while. A few pages in I was convinced I wouldn’t finish because of how much I was cringing but this can be the case with a lot of material the ‘challenges’ us. By the end I felt the most inspired and motivated I have all year. It explains manifestation in a very clear, concise and practical way. A one stop manual I would say.
Period power is a book I read years ago but have been revisiting a lot this month and the same goes for 50 things you need to know about periods. They are both my go to resources for menstrual cycle tracking. Each has something different to offer but they both provide the education I wish we were given in school and are loaded with practical tips on how to live more harmoniously with our cycles.
Reads
This post about fear vs intuition really made me think and I keep going back to it in my instagram saves.
Austen Kleon on substack is a must for any creatives
Lucy Wiliams on substack has become a firm favourite. I love her everything I wore series and lists of recommendations
I don’t want to have sex with my husband is an honest, vulnerable and beautiful exploration of the realities of intimacy. I wish there was more conversation and narrative on these kinds of topics.
The real one day had me hooked and is my favourite substack read for for a while. If you’re a sucker for true love stories like me I think you’ll love it to.
Beauty
Kusmi tea was recommended to me recently and I’ve really been enjoying their green rose loose tea. It has a little bit of caffeine in it but still a good alternative to caffeine heavy black tea. I feel like I’m in a spa every time I drink it and the tins are branded beautifully.
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brow gel has made its way back into my make up bag. I experimented with a cheaper alternative which turned out to be a complete waste of money because there was simply no comparison. I’ll be sticking with what I know I like in future. This gives a beautifully natural but groomed brow result.
Brands
Rouje is a French fashion brand by Jeanne Damas, one of those nonchalant effortlessly chic French women, and I’ve fallen in love with it. The pieces are pricey but designed to stand the test of time and are versatile enough to be on any capsule wardrobe brand directory.
Intimissimi has completely revamped my underwear drawer. When it comes to the intimates, I trust the Italians. They stock beautiful basics as well as lace pieces and their nightwear is beautiful too. If you missed my how to curate a capsule underwear collection vlog you can watch it here.
Enjoy!
Lots of love

Such wonderful info to have! I'm so excited to know your spring wardrobe edit is coming up. I love seeing how change of season and location has updated/changed your style! Love all your work Jess!
Such a great list, Jess! I loved both of this documentaries too - especially the Blue Zone one. What I loved most about that was that it explored the social and mental health elements of living a long life and not just the physical side. Such a fascinating topic and I love seeing all the smiling old ladies! so much joy and community there. Immediately looked up Rouje and now drooling over dresses when I should be writing! 😍
