What added value in September
The beauty game changer I wanted to hate, how to truly love and the best pair of capsule wardrobe trousers I could find in Paris.
Hello you!
I’m back in Paris and it feels great, but I’ll admit I’m struggling to publish deep heartfelt content right now. I’m writing it, but for some reason I can’t cross the finish line. Hopefully the new moon eclipse tomorrow will shift things a little and I’ll be back to normal. If anyone else has noticed mood changes over the last couple of weeks with eclipse season, I’d love to hear what you’ve noticed or experienced. My sensitivity has been heightened and so many realisations have come through.
In other news, this what’s been adding value letter is a bumper issue because while I was back in the UK tying up loose life ends over the summer I took some much needed time off from writing. Thank you for still being here!
Let’s dive in…
Bridgerton season 3 was my favourite yet. The love story between Penelope and Colin had me hooked. It’s so cleverly written and the cinematography is just beautiful. Then there are the outfits. Drool!
Far and Away is a film I watched with my mum over the summer and forgot how much I loved. Made in the 90s it tells the story of a poor boy and a rich girl leaving Ireland together to find their fortune in America. Obviously it’s really about love and how far we’ll go for it.
The Perfect Couple is a series I’ve been binging and loving on Netflix. The storytelling is nothing short of stellar and it uses my favourite technique to create tension - a play on time.
Emily in Paris season 4 didn’t disappoint. I still love every second of this show no matter how unrealistic or ridiculous it gets. Enjoy it for what it is and you’re in for some happy Parisian escapism.
Eckart Tolle’s videos on love have been captivating me. He’s intense and not for everyone but since reading the power of now earlier this year and noticing what a difference it made to my mental health I’m a huge fan. I love the way he describes the essence of ourselves and the other as the foundation for true selfless love.
Dyson air wrap - I really wanted to hate it because of the eye watering price, to find a cheaper better alternative but it’s no use - I’m obsessed. I bought the basic version back in August and my hair feels healthier already, shinier for sure, the curls last for days and I’m a sucker for anything multipurpose. It’s replaced my hair straighteners and hairdryer.
Zero therapy - coming back to Paris has had the usual effect on my skin. I know I have pollution and dirt to contend with but I forget how careful I have to be. Touching my face is a no no as it washing my hands more often else I suffer breakouts. Every time this happens I turn to what nobody in the beauty industry would recommend because it makes zero money…zero therapy. It’s the method my dermatologist gave me when I went to him for advice on my rosacea. It works every time. No products (seriously none!), good hygiene, lots of water and blemishes be gone!
