My year of connection so far and why things need to change

Hello you!

Did you set a word of the year for 2023? Did you create a vision board filled with all your hopes, dreams and struggles you’ll likely face along the way? I did. As we cross over into the second half of 2023 I can’t even remember how I came up with connection as my word of the year but I know it’s still the word I need to get me where I want to be. Something needs to change though.

I take words of the year very seriously. I think of them as building blocks to becoming a better person, the kind of person I want to be. When struggle inevitably rears its head I’ll call on my word for guidance and ask myself what action I’d take if I was living in line with it. The answers always appear and are rarely what I would have usually come up with. Once you’ve lived alongside a word every day for an entire year it never leaves you. The word you chose integrates itself within you and you build on it moving forwards. Connection has been a transformative word so far. It’s led me to where I am right now and I’m so grateful to it already. I never saw all this change coming.
